Greg Silvey has handled hundreds of matters such as appeals, petitions, writs, and dispositive motions, as either attorney of record or by preparing the briefs for the attorney of record. While appeals are his focus, given the necessity of properly preserving issues for appeal, he also provides behind the scenes assistance to trial counsel while the case is still at the trial level.

Greg practices almost exclusively in the area of appeals and related matters. He handles civil appeals of most kinds as well as criminal appeals, including appeals of petitions for federal habeas corpus and state post conviction relief. He represents Idaho inmates in parole and parole revocation hearings.

Attorney Greg Silvey is an experienced appellate lawyer practicing extensively in the Idaho Supreme Court, the Idaho Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. His Boise based practice handles state and federal cases arising from anywhere in the state of Idaho.
Services
Where an individual litigant is the client, Greg Silvey will enter his appearance as attorney of record and handle the entire appeal. This includes obtaining and reviewing the record, analyzing the case, performing legal research, drafting the briefs, and attending any scheduled oral argument. It also includes whatever motion practice is necessary as well as preparing or responding to petitions to a higher court where appropriate.
In Idaho since 1995, Greg also provides assistance to other attorneys with their appeals, ranging from legal research and case evaluation to the preparation of signature ready briefs. He can associate as co-counsel or act as local counsel for pro hac vice admissions as needed, or simply provide behind the scenes assistance.
At the trial level, Greg assists trial counsel in preserving issues for appeal, including researching issues and preparing legal memoranda for dispositive motions.
