Remembering Two Decades of Restoring Justice
The Idaho Innocence Project served as a nonprofit organization dedicated to correcting and preventing wrongful convictions through research, education, litigation, and DNA-based investigations. After two decades of impactful work, the Idaho Innocence Project officially disbanded in 2025.
Attorney Greg Silvey served as the organization's part-time Legal Director from 2015 through 2020 and then was senior consulting counsel until Idaho Innocence Project disbanded in 2025. During its years of operation, the Idaho Innocence Project collaborated with innocence organizations across the United States and internationally, helping establish Innocence Projects in Ireland and France, working alongside 27 innocence organizations throughout the U.S., and launching the International Innocence Program to investigate DNA cases outside the United States.
Although the Idaho Innocence Project is no longer active, its work contributed to advancing forensic justice, promoting post-conviction DNA testing, and helping prevent wrongful convictions around the world.
